Introduction to Poker Articles:

To play poker well requires a variety of thought processes depending on different circumstances. Sometimes the challenge is in extracting maximum value for the strong hand you hold, other times it is in determining the strength and/or intentions of your opponents' actions and choosing the best course of action. 

What follows are a few poker hands that I have either played or witnessed that are broken down for thought process and analysis. 

I have tried present these in terms easily understood by those who may not be entirely familiar with the terminology of poker lingo.

It should be noted: 

I have played literally hundreds of hours with all the regulars in our game. Knowing your opponents and their tendencies is crucial to long term success, especially in marginal situations.
